25 - 29 Aug 2010
The sprawling, densely populated township of Diepsloot is located in the north of Johannesburg, South Africa. Home to over 150 000 people, many live in meager shacks assembled from scrap materials. City officials estimate that half the population in the settlement is unemployed and access to basic amenities such as electricity, running water and sanitation is lacking. Crime runs rampant. Many would flee from such a place. God, however, rushes towards it, eager to save, heal and love.

The Youth Centre in Diepsloot filled with hungry hearts
From 25 – 29 August, a community hall located therein set the scene for five days of divine intervention. Each evening, Tamryn Klintworth and associate evangelist, Samuel Murrombe, preached the Good News with great zeal and enthusiasm, the name of Jesus being lifted high for all to see. The altar calls resulted in an abundance of hungry hearts streaming to the front. Whether youth or grandparent, many who came were emotional and weeping, responding to the beckoning call of an all-forgiving Saviour. Others marched with decided purpose, confessing Christ as Saviour with a resoluteness that confirmed the seriousness of their conviction.

Both young and old flood forward to accept Christ
Following the preaching of the word, signs and miracles left those present merrily celebrating the greatness of His might. The hearing of an elderly lady, who had been completely deaf for many years, was entirely restored. A stroke victim received complete healing to the affected side of her body, the right side of her face once limp and distorted now beaming with abundant joy. The club foot of a baby straightened to perfection on the child being brought forward for prayer. A toddler not ever having walked before took his first tentative steps to the grateful praises of an overwhelmed mother. A lady suffering from over three years of kidney disease experienced healing as she walked through the doors of the hall, the intense pain abruptly leaving her body prior to any preaching or prayer. Miracle followed miracle as all manner of afflictions fled before a glorious wave of Holy Spirit power!

The club foot of this baby is now completely normal!
In addition, many were delivered from demonic possession, surrendering their lives to a victorious Saviour. One teenage girl in particular testified of the freedom she felt after experiencing complete deliverance from all that tormented her. Plagued by nightmares and haunting voices, she testified of seeing strange, phantom-like figures in public places and collapsing in traumatic fits. Having attempted suicide a few days before, she was brought to the crusade by family members desperate for a solution to her plight. Now happy and free, she tells of the love and peace she feels since having accepted Christ as her Saviour.

Samuel Murrombe preaches the Gospel
As is custom on the final evening, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit was taught on and prayed for. The fire fell on all those who hurried forward to receive, many testifying thereafter of their baptism experience. “My brother is sick,” explained a certain lady. “I was going to ask my pastor to come and pray for him, but now I feel the power of the Holy Spirit bubbling inside of me. I am going to pray for him myself, and I know God will heal him!” Another woman bore witness weeping with joy: “I received Jesus as my Saviour at this crusade. Now, I have been filled with His Holy Spirit. I am so happy!” Yet another testified: “God has called me as an evangelist and I have been praying to be filled with His Spirit so that I can preach and pray with power. Tonight, I have received this wondrous gift!” Hallelujah, we are rejoicing!
