BOPHELONG, RSA

23 - 27 Nov 2011

Dear Friend,

Bophelong is being saved! Enjoy reading our daily reports, as we witness a wondrous influx of salvation, healing and deliverance in the township of Bophelong, near Vanderbijlpark, South Africa. What we are experiencing is nothing short of glorious. The name of Jesus is being lifted on high, and He is drawing both men and women, young and old, into His embrace.

Yours in Him,

Tamryn and the IHN Team

DAY 1

Our first day was glorious! The enthusiasm of the people was tremendous, our 2000-seater tent being filled with the praises of an eager crowd. I preached on the blood of Jesus, and the response to the altar call was tremendous. The front was flooded with those hungry to accept Jesus as their Saviour. As one young woman said, “I have accepted God to be the leader in my life.” Praise the Lord! Healings and deliverances followed in hot pursuit. One lady testified that some time back she had had a dream where a strange figure appeared to her and cursed her with cancer. Shortly thereafter, she started to experience severe pain in her chest. Last night, God touched her dramatically. Having also struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts, she was desperate for an encounter with Christ. “I felt something being removed from my body,” she explained. “Now, I am free!” Another came suffering from the effects of being HIV positive. “I felt burning on the inside, as if something was falling out of me,” she said. “I can’t explain the feeling, but I believe that God has healed me.” Still another testified, “My feet were very painful, I was unable to walk. But now, I can walk without pain. God has answered my prayers!” Testimony after testimony followed, from general aches and pains to tonsillitis, the Holy Spirit was hard at work. The first service of our three-day Fire Conference is to start shortly. Oh Lord, let your Spirit fall!

Singing praises to our King

DAY 2

Tonight, heaven touched earth! I preached on the rich young ruler in Mark chapter 10, and the response of the people was terrific. Many poured forward to accept Jesus, eager and emotional. One of those who accepted Christ was a young lady by the name of Mpho. A single mother, she explains her life as a mess. “I had an encounter with Jesus tonight,” she said. “My brokenness is gone, my future is bright, I want to live for Jesus!” The Holy Spirit moved mightily during prayer for the sick, His presence heavy and intense. A certain young women had been suffering from chronic stomach pains, unable to bend due to the discomfort. Bending and twisting on stage, she was ecstatic. A young man had struggled with constant leg pain for the past eleven years. “The pain is gone,” he exclaimed. “Wow! The pain is gone!” A lady suffering from a severe allergy, her skin being painful and itchy for the past two months, felt a chilling sensation, as if something was falling from her body. She describes her skin now as feeling fresh and new. Rejoicing, she glorified God. What a night, we look forward to the next three days!

The first service of our Fire Conference this morning was likewise a blessed time of God-encounters. The morning was divided into two sessions, with myself taking the one and my associate evangelist, Samuel Murrombe, taking the other. Samuel preached on the manner in which God calls people into His service, not choosing as man chooses, but looking at the heart. I ministered on the fire of God, and the necessity of us being baptised with His Holy Spirit. Tomorrow morning we will continue teaching, our conference reaching its conclusion on Saturday morning. Thank you for your prayers. The IHN team is moving full steam ahead!

People begin to pour forward to accept Christ

DAY 3

Glory be to God, our Jesus saves! This we witnessed in abundance last night, as a small sea rolled forward to accept Christ as Saviour. I preached on the Pool of Bethesda in John chapter 5, harping upon the fundamental truth of Jesus being the only way to heaven and the Father. I must say, the people of Bophelong are absolutely wonderful, so eager to hear the Gospel. The shouts of “hallelujah” and “amen” were even accompanied on and off by the blast of a vuvuzela – a true African crusade! Following prayer for the sick, the testimonies came pouring in. Zandile is a mother of three, and had been suffering from an endless migraine for the past seven months, having to resign from her work due to the disabling pain and dizziness. “My head felt like it was being torn in two,” she explained. “I really felt like I was going to die. I even dreamed of death.” In fact, even before prayer, while I was still preaching, God touched her in her seat. “I felt fire in my body,” she continued, “and then the pain disappeared.” Glory be to God! A young woman, by the name of Innocentia, has been struggling with chronic stomach cramps since 2008. “I felt something leave my body,” she said, “I started to cry and shout for joy. The pains are completely gone!” Another young lady explained how since primary school, she had suffered from depression. “I could not interact with people,” she said. “I was sad all the time, I could not concentrate on my studies. Tonight, God touched me. I was overwhelmed with emotions, I felt the presence of God moving in me. Now, I feel so happy, so free!” Our God is glorious, thank you Jesus!

The second day of our morning Fire Conference was equally fantastic. Samuel preached on the relationship between faith and expectation, while I ministered on effects of the anointing in the life of the believer. What a day it was – we are rejoicing!

Oh Lord, we need your touch!

DAY 4

What a night! As is our usual custom on a Saturday evening, both a Gospel and Holy Spirit baptism meeting were combined into one glorious service. Samuel preached a dynamic sermon on the repentant woman in Luke chapter 7, and the crowd rejoiced over the many salvations that quickly followed. One of those who accepted Christ was a young woman named Julia. “I felt a weight being lifted off of me,” she shared, “and I felt the Holy Spirit coming into my heart. I am so happy! I now believe that God is real and that Jesus is alive!” Thereafter, I ministered on the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the fire of God filling those who poured forward to receive this glorious gift. As God moved across the crowd, eruptions of deliverance and healing broke out. “I am a testimony that there is nothing bigger than God,” said Busisiwe, delivered from a snake spirit. Another lady, Sophie, likewise testified of her deliverance, having been troubled by evil spirits for the past seven months. “I am overwhelmed with joy,” she said. “I am now walking in the light of God!” Still another young women shared of how demons would appear to her in the night, instructing her to perform awful deeds. The torment was a constant plague, her life and sanity quickly beginning to unravel. Indeed, as of last night, she is completely free! The fire likewise fell during the final service of our morning Fire Conference. What can we say – it was a fire-filled day!

Praying for the baptism of the Holy Spirit

FINAL NIGHT

Last night, our crusade ended with a big bang of Holy Spirit power – what a night it was! Following the Gospel message – I preached on the adulteress woman in John chapter 8 – people rushed forward, so very eager to say yes to Jesus. So many lives forever changed, our hearts are filled with joy! Thereafter, the Holy Spirit fell, touching, healing, liberating, with a glorious intensity. His presence thick and heavy, our God moved and ministered across the crowd, meeting the needs of His children. A young woman testified of how for the past three months, her breasts have been so painful, that even the slightest touch would be an agony. Describing what she experienced during the service, she said the following: “I felt like I was in another place. My whole body was shaking. I felt dizzy, I felt something was being lifted off of me. I was crying, I could not believe that the pain was gone – I finally have my life back!” Another testified of being healed of high blood pressure and diabetes. Another bore witness to having been baptised with the Holy Spirit, “I came here longing that I be filled with the Holy Spirit,” she said. “I felt something in my stomach move, I felt the presence of God move within me. Suddenly, I began speaking in tongues! I am so happy!” Zodwa, a 41-year-old mother of four, was delivered from a spirit of fear. “I felt myself being set free, I felt the fear being removed. I was crying to the point of feeling tired – they were tears of happiness.” The pastors bore witness to the unity that the crusade has brought to the Bophelong area. “There are certain things that one forgets,” said one pastor. “But this crusade, we will never forget. This is the first time that we, as pastors from different churches, have worked together. There is now such unity amongst us.” We praise you Lord!

We magnify our Jesus for all that He has done over the past five days. Yes indeed, souls have been saved, broken bodies healed and the captives set free, all to the glory of His name! Farewell Bophelong, we will not forget you!

The Holy Spirit begins to move
