It is where darkness dominates that light has the most conspicuous of impacts. The township of Alexandra is buried within a deluge of crime, witchcraft and poverty. Declared to be the poorest urban development in South Africa, its inhabitants are desperately in need of a message of hope, healing and unconditional love. Indeed, the Good News of Jesus Christ in the ideal antidote for such a dire situation!

Hungry hearts pack the Alexsan Kopano Centre
For five consecutive days, the local community hall burst at the seams with a crowd hungry for an encounter with their Maker. The Gospel was proclaimed with simple clarity and dynamic boldness, such resulting in streams of people accepting Christ as their Saviour and completing decision cards for the purpose of being followed up by a local Church. The sick were prayed for at each service, resulting in a variety of ailments – from cancerous growths and migraine headaches to muscle disorders – vanishing beneath a wave of Holy Spirit power. The hearing of one woman, previously deaf in both ears, was completely restored and the chronic stomach pains of an usher disappeared amongst much rejoicing. A certain lady testified of her spine having been severely damaged in an accident over four years ago, causing her immense pain and multiple health dilemmas. Upon being prayed for, she glorified God for her complete healing!

Both young and old stream forward to receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour
The number of deliverances were likewise astounding. Multiple demons were cast out of a young woman who was training to be a sangoma or traditional diviner and healer. She testified with tears of joy of her newfound freedom and steadfast conviction to follow Jesus as her Lord. A mother bore witness of her child having been completely delivered, her daughter now entirely free from further demonic attacks. Many others who had been involved in witchcraft or suspect activities rejoiced likewise, their tormented state having been entirely abolished by the Blood of the Lamb.

Both Tamryn and associate evangelist Samuel Murrombe move down the prayer line laying hands on the sick

On the final evening, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit was briefly taught on and then prayed for. The fire fell from heaven with fantastic results, those present being entirely overwhelmed by this divine gift. Whether collapsing to the floor, sobbing ecstatically or leaping with irrepressible laughter, a mighty roar of new tongues ascended heavenwards. Indeed, may every Christian baptised with His mighty power be a ravenous bushfire for Jesus, burning up the works of the devil with a divine energy. Sickness, oppression and sin all fall victim to these flames from heaven, our Saviour setting the captives free through the voices and hands of His children!
